Engagement Rate Calculator
Calculate your engagement rate on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook or LinkedIn and see how it compares with 2026 benchmarks for your follower tier.
Benchmarks are 2026 industry averages by follower tier; niches differ (memes and pets run higher, B2B lower).

Engagement rate is the share of your audience that actually interacts with a post. It is the number brands look at first — a small account with a high rate is often worth more to a sponsor than a large account with a low one. Enter your averages from the last 10–12 posts and the calculator shows your rate by followers, your rate by views (if you enter reach), your tier and how you compare with accounts of your size.
How this calculator works
Engagement rate by followers = (average likes + average comments + average saves or shares) ÷ followers × 100. This is the version most brand platforms and media kits use.
Engagement rate by views = (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. Better for TikTok, Reels and YouTube where reach is driven by the algorithm rather than by followers.
The benchmark table groups accounts by size: nano (under 10K), micro (10K–100K), mid (100K–1M) and macro (over 1M). Smaller accounts naturally have higher rates, so always compare inside your own tier. Instagram's all-account average sits around 2.2% in 2026; TikTok is roughly double that; X and Facebook are far lower because most interaction there is passive.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good engagement rate on Instagram in 2026?
The overall Instagram average is about 2.2%. For accounts under 10K followers, 3–6% is healthy; between 10K and 100K, 1.6–3.5%; above 100K, 1–2.4% is normal and anything above that is excellent.
Should I use followers or views as the base?
Use followers for media kits and brand negotiations (it is the industry standard). Use views to judge individual posts and short-form video, where reach depends on the algorithm more than on your follower count.
Why does my rate drop as I grow?
A larger audience is always less concentrated: not every follower sees every post, and the share who interact shrinks. That is why benchmarks are grouped by follower tier.
Can this tool pull my stats automatically from my username?
No — reading another account's data without permission breaks platform rules, so we don't scrape. Copy the numbers from your Insights; it takes a minute and stays private.
How do I raise my engagement rate?
Post when your audience is online (see our Best Time to Post tool), ask a question in the caption, reply to every comment in the first hour, use carousels and Reels, and prune inactive or bought followers that dilute your base.
