What size should an Instagram highlight cover be?
1080 × 1920 px like any Story; Instagram crops a circle from the centre, so keep the icon inside the middle 1080 × 1080 area. The downloads here are already centred.
How do I set a highlight cover without posting it to my Story?
Open the highlight → “Edit” → “Edit cover” → choose from your camera roll. The image is applied as the cover without appearing in your Story.
Can I use my own icon or logo?
This version uses the built-in icon set. For a logo, download a plain colour cover here and place your logo on it in Canva or your phone's editor.
Which colours work best?
Either match your feed's dominant tone or use a neutral (ink, sand, cream) that won't clash as your feed changes. Keep all covers in the same style — that consistency is what reads as “branded”.
